New Fishcreek Live Dates!

One thing is certain, Lynne Taylor has a sound and spirit all her own!

As the daughter of a folk musician and a poet, Lynne grew up in the sixties and seventies, and absorbed the social consciousness of that time. She began writing her own music at the age of fourteen, and has been performing professionally ever since. Lynne’s music is characterized by poignant, honest songwriting combined with a powerful, contemporary vocal style and unique piano accompaniment. As well as being a staple in her adopted hometown of Newburyport, MA, she has been performing professionally across the eastern US since 1985.

Lynne focuses much of her creative energy as a solo performer, however she is also involved in several other projects that happen to be from quite diverse points on the musical spectrum. She rocks out hard with her newest all-original dark-melodic band, Mad Savannah, and is also lending her vocals to the newly revived Gary Shane and the Detour. In her spare time she plays upright bass in her family’s bluegrass band, Fishcreek.

Lynne released a self-produced solo CD entitled Grace in 1996 and her band, Rantic, released their self-titled CD in 2001. Fishcreek has released 2 CD’s, Cascade in 1998, and Up Fishcreek Without a Paddle in 2002. A new Lynne Taylor solo CD is in the works; she is collaborating again with Engineer/Producer Jim Tierney of the Electric Cave in Portsmouth. They are hoping for a release in Spring of 2005.
Mad Savannah is also working on a Cd.

"A gifted songwriter with powerful vocals and style that simply doesn't fit into any specific genre... Lynne takes the listener on an intense emotional journey that spans the spectrum of human existence... each songs smacks of truth... often the truths we don't want to look at..."
